Miss Diva is a registered grey Percheron mare imported as a weanling from Seaman's Percherons in Canada. DOB: 4/24/21. Currently 16.1H, growing slow & steady. Should top out around 17H. Full, glorious tail. I purchased this filly with the hopes of raising and training a physically and mentally healthy, 'perfect for me' forever trail companion. Sadly, life circumstances have drastically changed for me recently. So, I have come to the extremely difficult decision to rehome my horses with a first right of refusal buy-back contract. Diva is an amazing horse - pretty much that unicorn that everyone is looking for. Besides being extremely smart and easy to handle & train, Diva has a very affectionate, loving, curious and willing personality. She is calm & steady. Stands solidly for mounting/dismounting from anywhere, and doesn'tmove off until asked. Although she is still young and somewhat inexperienced, she doesn't startle easily - and when she does, she recovers quickly. Diva loves to spend time playing with her humans, and is a joy to be around! Diva will stall well, but stays out in the pasture mostly. She gets along very well with all horses, doesn't start any trouble, and is very friendly & social with the herd. She also comes up to the pasture gate when called. She's a farm favorite! Cross ties and ties to a hitching post/trailer with no problems. Diva loads, unloads, and trailers quite easily. Also, no issues with grooming, bathing, fly spray, show sheen, etc. Diva is currently barefoot, with very healthy feet. She gets farrier trims every 6 weeks without issue. (Can supply farrier info, should you like to speak with him.) Her vet has even remarked about how healthy and beautiful her frogs are. We have done extensive groundwork with Diva using natural horsemanship and classical dressage training methods. She has manners and walks nicely on a loose lead without trying to run you over, gives you space and stops/starts when you do. Backs easily, as well. Diva is very athletic and agile. She's got a lovely floating trot, and a slow effortless lope. She would make a fantastic horse for just about any discipline or trail riding adventure. Diva has been exposed to cars, trucks, tractors, trailers, 4 wheelers, dirt bikes, bicycles, golf carts, kids, parties, farm fun day festivals, small fun shows, cows, cattle, sheep, goats, donkeys, mini horses, ponies, cats, dogs, and chickens. Beginning in December, 2023, Diva has been in training with Scott Stokes of S Bar J Ranch for starting under saddle. Using gentle training methods, Diva has progressed rather quickly and is doing extremely well. She has shown a marvellous willingness to learn, as well as proven to be a level headed young lady that does not get her feathers ruffled easily. She is so very easy and pleasant to work with, intelligent, curious, and super trusting. I'd like her to go to a home that will continue to foster her trust and affection. She is ready to go in any and all directions you choose. Has the potential for any number of disciplines, including: trail riding, farm work, halter, husband-safe horse, jumping, kid-safe family horse, mounted patrol, pack horse, parades, pleasure driving, show hitch, breeding, trick horse, vaulting, working cattle, and much more! Diva would also be a fantastic addition to any breeding program. Especially those that would like to add substance, bone, height, athleticism, great gaits, and excellent temperament. This precious soul has been well loved and raised. No issues and not cheap. We will continue to work with her regularly until sold. Of course, price will go up with additional training.
