Braego is a 9 year old registered half Arabian gelding. The other half is a Drum horse. He is a big, beautiful, boy with a big personality. I have had him since he was an unbroken 3 year old. For the past 5 years he has been introduced to trail riding, dressage, obstacles, ground poles, cavalettis, and just started jumping. He has great movement in the arena for dressage but loves going down the trail. He has more spunk than your average draft but is calmer than your average Arabian. He is happy to ride by himself or with other horses but he will want to lead when riding in a group. He is the kind of horse that wants to introduce himself to everyone: other horses, people, the barn cat, the neighbors donkey, the chickens, sheep  on the other side of the fence, etc. He has lived in a stall, a paddock and in a pasture with other horses. He gets along with other horses as long as he can be the leader. He can be dominant especially around food. My other horses are submissive so they all get along great. He will get anxious if all the other horses leave him behind but if he is the one leaving he is fine. He is an affectionate, he will be in your bubble, digging through your pockets, and following you around when you are doing barn chores (he will even follow you up the stairs, onto the porch, and try to come into the house :) He is easy to catch, trailers well, ties well, has been up-to-date his whole life on feet trims, teeth floating, wormer, vaccines, etc. He’s never had shoes on because I ride bare foot but there is no reason he couldn’t. I have ridden him bitless but he is does better with a bit. No major injuries in his history except for one: he cut his left nostril open when he was a 3 year old so he has a 1 inch scare on his nose and his left nostril is slightly smaller than the right, just cosmetic, no breathing issues. Some considerations to be aware of: he is a big boy so he wears warmblood size tack, needs a saddle with a wider gullet, and a bigger horse trailer. He isn’t going to fit into your average two-horse straight load. He also has more hair than most horses with a thick mane and tail and feathered feet. For being as big as he is, he actually only eats slightly more than my 14.1 hand Arabian. He has been fed grass, alfalfa and turned out for grazing and done fine with all. No special dietary needs but he will over eat and get fat if you don’t watch him. Braego is more of an athlete than a pet. I would love for him to go to a serious rider, someone who wants to rides a lot. I originally wanted to do eventing with him but my plans have changes recently and I am now moving out of the country. He is currently located in Bakersfield California.
